Re: Making a Murderer
Not sure how you can muster someone in a messy garage and not leave one shred of physical evidence. You'd have to be a criminal mastermind, in fact, you'd probably be so clever that you wouldn't murder someone in a messy garage.

Just finished watching it this weekend... Well, I watched all 10 episodes over the two days :S

You can easily fall into the defence side of this story... Like a lot of evidence not seen by the two lawyers for Avery we also missed a lot of evidence from the State.

Lenk all day from me though, surprised he hasn't been bumped off yet

this is worth a look. apparently kratz sent this letter to avery begging him to confess. eight years after being imprisoned but before 'making a murderer' was filmed

Just binged watched this (as everybody should).

Incredible doc, a big thing for was the defence saying 7 of the 12 jurors were initially saying not guilty but got turned round by the "stubborn guilty" jurors, perhaps the police got to 1 or 2 of the jurors aswell.

Imo they both definitely got framed.

Nurse, I watched every episode, waiting for that game-changer to drop on the prosecution like a bolt from god - but it didn't happen.

Now this is potentially very interesting indeed.

If they key (obviously) planted by the coppers turned out to be a spare key, and not the one used by Teresa on a day-to-day basis, it begs the question, where was the spare key kept, and how did the copper get hold of it? Just a search of Teresa's home? Or did someone give it to them?

Re: Making a Murderer
Indeed, and even the prosecution realised that with a 12 person jury from manitowoc they HAD to make sure they weren't overly accusing local law enforcement of planting evidence, even when they thought they had.

"Trev, in one of the episodes, they said that the key DID have Avery's DNA on it but nobody else's - not even Theresa Halbach's. Which made it even more likely that it was planted. I couldn't understand why they didn't follow that up"

I think the defence did bring this up during the trial, Alan. At least I THINK I remember it. But every time they alluded to the possibility of planted evidence, the prosecution made a big dramatic pearl-clutching song and dance about HOW DARE THEY besmirch the reputation of these FINE law enforcement officers...

It seemed to do the trick.

"Teresa Halbach's infamous car key, found by police in Avery's bedroom under suspicious circumstances, proved crucial in the case against Steven - despite the fact that it contained zero Avery DNA."

Trev, in one of the episodes, they said that the key DID have Avery's DNA on it but nobody else's - not even Theresa Halbach's. Which made it even more likely that it was planted. I couldn't understand why they didn't follow that up.
